Chettinad Thenkuzhal Muruku

Thenkuzhal Muruku


Rice -4 cup
Urad dal-3/4 cup
Ghee-2 tsp
Oil-1/2 litre


1.Wash Rice and dry in sun.
2.Dry Roast urad dal stirring without pause(Not Burnt or browned).
3.Grind rice and urad to fine powder.
4.Sew powder 3-4 times with salt.
5.Add hot ghee and water to make soft dough.
6.Use maruku maker and squeeze in round or oval shape.
7.Fry muruku in med flame,until sizzling stops.
8.Dont over heat oil ,fry rest as soon as.. to avoid dough gets tangy.
